Issues > Workforce / Technical Education.
As a former chair of the Broward County Workforce Development Board (Workforce One), Michael has and continues to support a
legislative agenda that promotes adequate funding for workforce education -- a key training component demanded by employers needing to maintain a competitive advantage with a skilled labor force.
Advances in product and manufacturing technology have created a demand for employees with a higher level of baseline technical
skills. Therefore, high school graduates seeking to transition directly to entry level employment that pays a liveable wage must have already established this new skills set baseline.
As the owner of a technology services company, Michael understands the importance of preparing high school students with a
sellable skill that an employer can enhance with a minimum investment in on the job training. He has provided testimony about this key economic development issue to a panel of the Lieutenant
Governor, Secretary of State, Head of the Agency for Workforce Innovation and the President of Enterprise Florida.
